Community Planning

Overview

Under general direction from the Planning Director, the planning department consists of development and annexation proposals, as well as right-of-way permits, and zoning classification. Regional planning issues and concerns are addressed through participation in various regional planning organizations and collaboration with neighboring communities. The goal of the Town of Severance Planning Department is to create a high-quality, sustainable, and equitable community by establishing and managing the standards for development.

Responsibilities

Department responsibilities include Annexations, Master Plans, Subdivision, Site Plan Reviews, Mapping and Addressing Services, and the preparation and maintenance of the Town's Comprehensive Plan. In addition, the department recommends appropriate zoning classifications for all annexations, studies and recommends amendments to zoning maps, and oversees zoning, rezoning, and conditional use permits.
