The Town of Severance, Colorado, is seeking a Town Attorney to serve as the Town's legal counsel and serve as the primary legal advisor to the Town Council, Boards and Commissions, Town Manager, and Town Directors. A minimum of three years experience in municipal law, ideally as a Town or County Attorney, Deputy Attorney, or experience in a private law firm advising municipal governments with a full range of municipal services. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, rules, and ordinances applicable to Town activities and functions, including municipal liability, data security, public meetings, public records, and public financing, is required. The Town Attorney is required to reside within 60 minutes of the Town of Severance. The Town Attorney contract is at the discretion of the Town Council, with a hiring range of $128,000 to $167,000, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications.
