2. Application for Home-Based Business Permit

   A $25 application fee is due at the time of application, which must be paid by check or card.

   Payment Methods:

   • By Card: Call us at 970-686-1218 (please note there is a small processing fee for card payment).
   • In person: Stop by Town Hall at 3 S. Timber Ridge Parkway, Severance.
   • By mail: Send check to: Town of Severance, Business License, PO Box 339, Severance, CO, 80546

   Submittal of the application and receipt of payment does not guarantee approval of the application.

   The approved permit will be returned by email.

   This permit is location specific. You will need to apply for a new permit if you move.

69. Standards

    The following uses, because of their tendency to go beyond the limits permitted for home-based and thereby impair the use and value of the residential area, are NOT permitted as home-based businesses:

    1. ANY Medical marijuana or marijuana-related business.

    2. Auto repair, auto painting, motorized vehicles, or motorized implement repair.

    3. Dance, music, or other types of instruction (if more than four students are instructed at one time).

    4. Welding shops.

    5. Nursing homes.

    6. Any retail or wholesale sales to consumers upon the premises not incidental to the home-based business.

    Any home-based business not meeting the standards above or otherwise denied a permit by the Town Manager or designee may only be approved by a special use permit. The special use permit requires a separate application and fee.
