Per Section 16.5.415. Sign permit requirements. To ensure compliance with the regulations of this section, a sign permit shall be required to erect, move, alter, reconstruct, or repair any permanent or temporary sign, except signs that are exempt from permits in compliance with this Section of the Code. A sign permit shall be required for those temporary signs specified in Section 16.5.425 of this Code. In multiple-tenant buildings, a separate permit shall be required for each business entity's sign. Separate building and electrical permits may be required for signs and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Changing or replacing the copy on an existing lawful sign shall not require a permit, provided that the copy change does not change the nature of the sign or render the sign in violation of this section.

*Electrical plans are only required for illuminated signs, and foundation plans are only for monument signs. Additionally, a separate building permit will be required for any sign application that requests illumination or a foundation.
